A memorable year for Pakistan on the field


The year 2011 has to be a memorable one in the history of Pakistan cricket. On the field, they didn't lose a single Test series - a major achievement. It was way back in 1996 that Pakistan didn’t lose a Test series and after 15 long years the men in green are relishing such an astonishing year. That Pakistan of 1996 were world beaters with world-class performers and this Pakistan team is nowhere near that team of 1996.

No friction between govt, army: Gilani

Petrol price crosses Rs:90 mark

ISLAMABAD – Beating all previous records in history of the country, the cash starved coalition government on New Year gifted the masses with a massive raise in the prices of POL products.

With this increase in the per litre price of POL (petroleum oil and lubricants) products of up to Rs5.13, the prices of petrol, and Hi Octane are now the highest-ever. Though the government already rubbed enough salt to the public injuries through the gigantic surge in the prices of gas and imposition of gas infrastructure cess (GIC), it drew the dagger further deep into the people’s belly by jacking up the already sky rocketing prices of POL products

Nawaz wants clash between institutions: Babar Awan


Former law minister and PPP leader Dr Babar Awan has said that PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif wants clash among institutions. While talking to a public gathering in Rawalpindi, Awan said that Nawaz’s era was over, adding that the world knows who attacked the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Babar said that some people are hatching conspiracies against institutions but they would not succeed.

Imran’s tsunami sweeps Karachi


KARACHI - Imran Khan’s tsunami after conquering Lahore swept through Karachi on Sunday, where tens of thousands of people assembled at the call of the PTI leader who unfolded his future plans to cleanse the country from rampant corruption and to make it an Islamic social welfare state.

Addressing the mammoth PTI flag-waving near mausoleum of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Imran Khan, in his 4-minute speech, decaled that if voted into power he would end the corruption in 90 days and give new policies to provide justice and social empowerment to the people.

The PTI had organised public gathering at Bagh-e-Jinnah, adjacent of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum on the day of Father of the Nation’s birth anniversary.
